Elaeagnus triflora….Millaa Millaa Vine

Elaeagnus triflora (V*AbcD) is an interesting and attractive native bush tucker plant from Queensland also famous for producing the highest known source of Lycopene a very powerful anti oxidant …4 times higher than tomato…the accepted highest source! Well known in the Aboriginal medicine chest. Small fragrant yellow flowers and bright red edible fruits. Glossy medium foliage which is silver/coppery under. Its a host plant for native species and can be kept as a shrub or let go as a vine.  Good in a pot, garden or hedge. The town of Millaa Millaa on the Atherton Tablelands is named after it.
