….Ancient Towering Giant…
Queensland Kauri
Agathis robusta (20m**FmAbcD) This towering native conifer produces a straight trunk with striking, smooth
bark and unusual leathery glossy, silvery leaves. One of the rarest ancient trees, it can live for centuries, reaching
heights over 40m. It thrives in warm, subtropical to tropical climates but can tolerate mild frost. Its impressive cones disintegrate while still on the tree, releasing winged seeds that spiral to the ground. Revered for its high-quality timber, its resin was once used for making varnish. Despite its massive size, this species can be grown as an ornamental signiture tree in important gardens and can also be enjoyed as a potted indoor plant when young. Sent in a 75mm pot.
