A sparkling mix of colour straight from South Africa, Babiana produces richly coloured, trumpet-shaped blooms in purples, blues, and reds with bold markings. Each stem carries multiple flowers, often perfumed, emerging from sword-like foliage. Grows to 30 cm tall and prefers a sunny spot in well-drained soil. Mildly frost tolerant and excellent for pots or borders. Little known fact: Babiana gets its name from the Dutch word for “baboon,” as wild baboons are known to dig and eat the corms!
