Polystichum proliferum. (1cm**ABCDE) Rarely available. The fronds unfurl from a silky crosier and the tip remains tightly curled with a knot of white and brown hairs. Fronds turn dark green when matured. Spore clusters underneath the leaves, protected by a umbrella like cover, hence the name Mother Shield Fern. Native to Australia. Found in wet forest in moist areas. Great in a pot or in the garden. Shade. 90mm pots.
