HOYA ‘SILVER SCHILLACI’
(C) Hoya publicalyx ‘Silver Schillachi’. We gave this nickname 30 years back after the famous and beautiful grey racehorse Schillaci. What a sight with this silver speedster flying home to win 16 races and over $2 Million in Prizemoney! He also had a reputation for eating the occasional Hoya !1
Silver Schillaci the Hoya was selected for the high proportion of silver streaks in its leaf markings. Lovely large clusters of velvety red wax flowers in spring and summer. Very hardy and can dry out a little between waterings. Needs to be under well lit hard shelter in winter in all climates except tropical where shade cloth is OK. All Hoyas enjoy morning sun. Like all our Hoyas usually sent 30cm long in a 70mm diameter pot.
