Important Requirements for Plant Shipping

Plant Labelling

Every plant must arrive with a tag showing its full botanical name (Genus + species). This is a legal requirement for quarantine documentation. Common names are not sufficient.

Shipping Address

Ask your plant seller to address packages to:

Your Name
C/- Bob at Paradise Distributors
9 Paradise Place, Nambour
QLD 4560

Timing

Plants should arrive at our facility 10-28 days before the dispatch date. This allows time for potting (if needed), treatment, inspection and documentation.

Plant Condition

For best results, ask sellers to ship plants in their pots with soil rather than bare-rooted. Bare-rooted plants require repotting and may not travel as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I ship plants from Victoria to Western Australia?

Due to Potato Cyst Nematode concerns, we cannot accept plants from Victoria destined for WA. However, cuttings without roots from Victoria are permitted.

How long does delivery take?

After dispatch on Friday, plants typically arrive in Tasmania and NT by Tuesday-Wednesday. WA deliveries usually arrive Thursday-Friday due to additional quarantine inspection at destination.

Are the chemical treatments harmful to plants?

No. We’ve been treating plants for over 30 years with no adverse effects. The treatments are specifically formulated to eliminate pests while being safe for plant material.

What if my plant isn’t on the approved list?

We check all botanical names against state databases. If a plant has synonyms, we’ll find the approved name. If a plant is genuinely prohibited, it cannot be shipped.

Can I add plants from your nursery to my order?

Yes! Browse our Rare Plants catalogue and add items to your forwarding order. You’ll only pay freight once.

What about fruit trees and large plants?

We can ship fruit trees and plants up to 1m tall in special boxes. These have higher handling and freight costs – contact us for a quote.
